History of Bread Machines

Most people in this day and age especially the bakers who basically use bread machines every day of their life, don’t know if where and how the machine was really created, if who invented the first bread machine, or even who came up with the idea of making one.

Well, back in the day bread was only made by hand when there were still no bread machines available. And so, it was a very strenuous task and hours of work are always spent just to make bread. And most of the time, there are only able to make a maximum of hundred breads in a day with several workers. Hence, making breads was really time-consuming at that time.

Fortunately, there was someone who came up with an idea for automation. His name was Joseph Lee, born in 1848, he was well-known in the culinary industry during that time since he built the first machine that would take day old bread and crumble it. As back in the day, any bread that is older than a day had to be thrown out already and put into the garbage can.

So Joseph Lee invented the first automated bread machine. He enhanced the design even more so than it will only took one or two men working rather than six. The bread produced from this was not only more sanitary, but innovative in production and quality as well.

In the present day, many manufacturers are now making modern bread machines for home use. And the bread machines that we have these days are no longer the same as before, as nowadays they only need the ingredients, and they can do the rest from beginning to end, creating a fully cooked and ready to eat loaf of bread.

Bread machines are now becoming a mainstream household appliance and a lot of people in this day and age already have one in their homes. Ultimately, bread machines continue to be a strong and more advanced piece of equipment. Plus, almost any flavor of bread can now be easily made at home because of this extraordinary machine.
